WHS Compliance Manager QLD

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated WHS Compliance Manager to drive a strong safety culture and compliance with legislative requirements. This ‘hands on’ role will give you the opportunity to play a lead role in managing our WHS system and an organisational culture that promotes the well-being and safety of all employees. Reporting to the WHS & Workers Compensation Manager QLD, the successful candidate will be required to maintain an on-site presence, which will require travel to a number of sites in QLD.

Duties include but are not limited to
• Maintain National WHS Management System;
• Assist Brickworks Managers to develop safety documentation which includes policies and procedures, Safe Work Methods, Hazard Checklists, JSEAs, SDS, etc;
• Assist with the rollout of National WHS initiatives;
• Assist with the management of work-related injuries and assist management on accident prevention strategies;
• Report on WHS statistical data, trends and recommend initiatives;
• Coordinate WHS investigations, and follow up WHS incidents from a risk and aspect; and
• Regularly conduct site walk through inspections, behavior audits and safety contacts and resolve any potential risks identified.

Success Requirements
• Tertiary qualification in WHS/OHS, auditing or other relevant discipline.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar WHS role preferably in the manufacturing industry.
• Demonstrated experience successfully implementing WHS initiatives.
• Experience in administration of a WHS Management Systems.
• Ability to build and maintain trusted and respected relationships with key stakeholders
• Attention to detail.
• Ability and willingness to travel as required.
