About the role
Making beautiful products that last forever starts by building great teams, and we are looking for a science or civil engineering graduate to join our Austral Masonry team at Yatala, QLD, as a Quality Control Technician. Reporting to the National Quality and Technical Manager, you will be responsible for conducting Construction Material Testing for a range of Masonry building products to Australian Standards, data input, and assisting in 9 Masonry sites adhering to both NATA and ISO9001 Quality Management Systems. The role will be broad, hands-on and you will gain diverse experience within the laboratory.

Duties include but are not limited to:
• Conduct Construction Material Testing for a range of Masonry building products;
• Update and maintain records of test results;
• Arrange laboratory inspection and testing when required;
• Maintain and monitor laboratory storage and supplies;
• Assist with ensuring sites comply with current ISO9001 Quality Management System;
• Assist in the ongoing development of raw materials, cementitious material, admixtures and oxides;
• Assist the sales team with technical customer enquiries;
• Assist in the development of mix design and product technical registers;
• Assist the research and development department and conduct production trials; and
• Collect masonry samples from the plant for quality assessment and testing.

We are looking for people with:
• A Degree in Science (prefer earth or chemical) or Civil Engineering.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High accuracy and attention to details.
• Excellent administration and organisational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Physically capable to lift and perform tests on heavy masonry products
• Ability to work in a team and autonomously.
