About the role
Making beautiful products that last forever starts by building great teams, and we are looking for two self-motivated and confident Apprentice Fitters to join our team at Austral Bricks Western Australia. These roles will be across two plants, Bellevue and Cardup, gaining the skills and knowledge over four years to become a certified Fitter and Turner. Reporting to the Project and Process Manager, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently performing emergency, project and preventative maintenance of machinery and equipment.

Duties include but are not limited to:
• Maintain and repair mechanical components and equipment;
• Examine faulty machinery and equipment for defects;
• Use various hand tools to fit and assemble parts to ensure that plant mechanical assets are fully maintained to promote efficient operation of equipment;
• Complete planned, unplanned and requested maintenance tasks effectively;
• Perform fault-finding analysis and diagnosis of maintenance issues and undertake problem solving to resolve/repair issues to minimise impact on production;
• Liaise with management, supervisors, maintenance team and operators to resolve breakdowns and perform preventative maintenance to minimise downtime;
• Ensure that all assigned duties and quality of work is in accordance with industry standards, legislation, codes of practice and company procedures; and
• Conduct proactive breakdown analysis and identify problem areas of plant.

• Knowledge and experience using MEX system.
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand schematic drawings, plans and specifications.

The successful candidates must be available to commence ASAP.
