About the role

Making beautiful products that last forever starts by building great teams, and we’re looking for an experienced and personable Electrical Automation and Control Engineer to join our team at Austral Bricks in Wollert, VIC. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the management of site PLC Programming and network systems relative to change management processes. You will have a focus on preventative maintenance to the site PLC Network, SCADA and Process Control Communications Systems whilst ensuring compliance to all safety and environmental policy and procedures.

Duties include but are not limited to:
• Scope requirements for change management requests, identify solutions and action;
• Install, test and commission all Change Management and Maintenance activities;
• Inventory Management and Procurement of Network/ Control Systems, materials & equipment;
• Complete planned, unplanned and requested maintenance tasks as directed;
• Complete Preventative Maintenance activities to PLC Network, SCADA and Process Control Communications Systems, Electrical Plant and Equipment;
• Liaise with Management, Supervisors, Maintenance team and Operators to resolve breakdowns and perform preventative maintenance to minimise downtime;
• Ensure that plant assets are fully maintained to promote efficient operation of equipment;
• Train and educate maintenance personnel in the areas of PLC Network, SCADA and Process Control Communications Systems; and
• Assist and contribute to Operational Excellence initiatives.

Success Requirements

We are looking for people with:

• Minimum of 10 years engineering experience, with a specific focus on process control engineering.
• High level of manufacturing or mining exposure.
• Demonstrated sound technical aptitude in Computer Systems/ MEX CMMS System, PLC, RS Logix (Allan and Bradley, Rockwell).
• Sound understanding of programming drive controls (DOLs and VSDs).
• High level automation exposure.
• Robotics Exposure.
• Possess a valid Australian Drivers Licence.
• Experience with designing and configuring control system software.
• Strong understanding of schematic drawings, plans and specifications.
• Strong ability to prioritise tasks and ensure quick response to emergency breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Effective time management and organisation skills.
• Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills.
